The Rocca di Lonato stands on top of one of the hills of the morainic amphitheatre that dominates the southern part of Lake Garda. The sanctuary (pictured) stands on a rocky spur overlooking the lake near Tignale and offers a unique panorama: the view sweeps from the peaks of Monte Baldo to the Sirmione peninsula. Rising on the ruins of an ancient temple, later transformed into a castle, it houses a small temple dating back to 800 AD. A path leads from the sanctuary up the mountain, offering enchanting views of the lake.
